Background:
Madelein is the head of the Intellectual Property Department servicing local and international clients in terms of trade marks, designs, patents, copyright and domains. She also attends to Magistrate’s Court and High Court litigation.
Apart from Intellectual Property Law and litigation, she attends to administration law and general statutory compliance on behalf of clients.
Madelein has knowledge and experience in the following fields of law: Intellectual Property Law (prosecution and litigation), General Litigation, Commercial Law, Contracts, Family Law, Collections, National Credit Act, Legal Costs, Liquor Legislation (both provincial and national), Consumer Protection Act and Constitutional Law. Madelein is also a registered tax practitioner and assists clients with various tax related matters.
